Which weapons will we be using?HanbĹŤ and Biken. Soft versions to avoid hurting your comrades. We will not be able to lend you any.

What Outfit should we wear?• For training, the keikogi is mandatory, be sure to wear badges and stars appropriate to your rank. Indoor tabis on tatamis. (No vulgar or inappropriate T-shirts will be allowed during training.)
• For the final party, there is a dress code. Costume (or traditional clothing) for gentlemen, dress or suit for ladies. This is the Japanese definition of 'Casual'.

Can I pay at the venue?To give everyone the best possible Taikai experience, we need to have a precise understanding of the number of participants. For this reason, the registration fee includes the three days of training. A one-day training fee is not available.

Registrations end on November 20, 2025. Any registrations after this date will not be able to see their T-shirt order absolutely honored.

No last minute registration will be accepted “at the door”.

You must register online before the event, so register today!

Can I take photos or videos during the event?Due to security reasons photos and video will not be allowed during training sessions. A photographer and videographer will document the three days of the event. These photos will be shared on social media and accessible for free!

A time and place for a group photo and possibly individual photos with Nagato Sensei will be announced during the event. Photos during breaks and the dinner are allowed.

Can I get my ticket refunded?Please note that we fully understand that things happen and some who register may not be able to participate. But keep in mind that we commit registration funds to the event costs. There will be no full refund at any time, for any reason.

If you must cancel at ANY TIME, you will receive your money minus 250€ that have already been committed for the expenses whether you came or not. This rule is not flexible. You can sell your ticket to another person, but you must let us know so we can register it properly.

Can I eat in the venue?It is forbidden to eat in the training area, on tatamis.

However, it is possible to eat in the stands that will be available for this purpose. (Please manage your disposals responsibly.) :)

Is there anything that participants should know about culture or etiquette when meeting with a Japanese teacher?Please keep your distance, don’t talk to the teacher unless you are asked.

Will participants be able to consult with the teacher individually?Except in special cases, or at the request of the person concerned, this is not possible.

Will translators or interpreters be available?An English translator will be available during the training.
